25 februari 2019 - to mainpage Droog Magazine Op 25 november 2017
hoofdkatern werd een samenvatting afgedrukt.³ how Hitler still sells and dazzles On November 25, 2017, the Dutch Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies (NIOD) announced that it had acquired an authentic Hitler water color:
We - and not only we - frowned when we read this. Less than a year ago we showed the deception with the so-called Hitler poems4, an affair that started in February 2016, and discredited the Netherlands, as the main exporter of forged Hitler material, worldwide.5 That this scam could happen remains incomprehensible to this day: apparently the assembled Dutch press had forgotten what the Hitler diaries fraud in 1983 was. But what happened in November 2017 is, strictly speaking, a lot more worrying than the 2016 scam, which was started by a commercial publishing house. This time it was the NIOD, the Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies, an organization that is also part of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. The NIOD is also the 'pen holder' (whatever that may be) of the European Holocaust Research Infrastructure. After inadequate and
half-hearted research, which, moreover, is largely
based on a book by con artists from the Nazi
counterfeiting circuit, the NIOD reveals that an
authentic new 'Hitler' aquarel has emerged (quod
non). With this the NIOD propagates Nazi propaganda:
it claims, in imitation of the old Nazis and art
swindlers Peter Jahn and Prof. Dr. August Priesack,
that Hitler painted thousands of aquerelles (quod
quoque non). In doing this, the NIODs feeds
the Hitler falsification circuit. Jaap van den Born & Bart FM Droog, December 2017. Noten
